Taking a moment’s break from the sound check for his regular slot at The Windmill, Brixton favourite JD Smith invited Brixton Sessions in to capture our first rockabilly performance.
Proving that a solo acoustic guitarist doesn’t have to mean folk music, JD Smith has been touring his mixture of blues, punk and rockabilly around London for the past 8 years in an attempt to bring rockabilly back from the brink and to a whole new audience.
Currently on his second album ‘Hey, Rube!!!’, there’s plenty more chances to see JD before the end of the year, including a return to The Windmill on the 3rd November and 14th December, and performances at the Silver Bullet Finsbury Park on the 14th November and 12th December.
