‘Cider Sunday’
‘In The Yard’
Straight down from ‘In The City’, Manchester industry showcase for the next big things in the music biz, HOLDEN played a couple of tracks as we waited for the Brixton Jamm to open its doors, as this time they support ‘Alabama 3′. The band have been hailed as a ‘must-see’ live experience and if these little numbers are anything to go by then Brixton Sessions can certainly see why.
Brothers Jedd and Anthony Holden are the at the heart of the bands songwriting, having spent their youth honing these skills in Edinburgh’s suburban town of Dalkeith. Influenced by their Celtic roots and from their unlikely jobs as mental & social care workers. Clearly inspired by the underdog, the themes of which run through the lyrics about alcoholism, homelessness and internal contemplation.
The band have now re located to Abbey Road, with member’s Dan Coffey Bass and Kris Lousley Drum’s to complete the line up still only 4month’s old, yet have been attracting lots of attention with their ‘Garage-Folk’ offering’s. Visit their Myspace to sample their sound…we are glad they took the time to do a brixton session http://www.myspace.com/holdenofficial
